Pension disbursement through post offices, She told the officials to give pensions of three months at the same time for those who hadn’t got their pensions due to technical snags and also to distribute the pensions between 1 and 5 of every month.
Anantapur: The State government has decided to disburse pensions through postal department in all division in Anantapur city and the Elders Pensions Committee resolved to take steps to ensure justice done to the eligible, stated Mayor and Committee Chairperson Madamanchi Swaroopa. She held a meeting with Deputy Mayor and Committee member Sake Gampanna, other members Chandrasekhar Shetty, Venkataprasad, Vijayasri and Das here on Tuesday.
Addressing the members, the Mayor said that the old age pensions should be given once the age proof certificate was issued and no need to take finger prints. This problem came as the age has been entered wrongly during the issuance of Aadhaar cards, she added.
Swaroopa said that the Committee has decided to disburse pensions by identifying eligible persons for old age pensions in the presence of corporate colony leaders in all the divisions, without considering the age mentioned in the Aadhaar card.
She told the officials to give pensions of three months at the same time for those who hadn’t got their pensions due to technical snags and also to distribute the pensions between 1 and 5 of every month.
Focus on arrears
Mayor Swaroopa directed the revenue employees, during a review meeting held here, to concentrate on collecting the long-pending arrears of property tax in the Municipal Corporation limits.
She told them to handover the demand notices for property tax to each house. She told the Bill Collectors that it was their duty to collect the Aadhaar card and phone numbers of the house owners and to link these numbers with property tax. She directed the revenue staff to collect the arrears from apartments, shopping complex and commercial complex. Mayor warned of stringent action against Bill Collector and RI if they failed to reach target in their divisions.
Mayor Swaroopa told Public Health Officers and sanitary inspectors to collect license fee from all shops with sign boards and to strive to ban the plastic covers’ usage.
Pinpoint programme for better sanitation
Mayor Swaroopa said special steps should be taken to improve sanitation in the city through Pinpoint programme. She along with Commissioner Chandramoulishwar Reddy toured the areas in sixth circle limits and examined the workers’ musters. They along with contract and regular employees checked the sanitation works going on in Buddappa Nagar, Sangamesh Nagar, Munna Nagar and other areas.
Swaroopa told the workers to remove the garbage immediately. She requested the public to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness. She told them to hand over garbage of their houses to the collection vehicles.
