Expedite land acquisition: JC Sharma, JC Sharma directed the officials to take measures for completing the projects within the stipulated time.

Rajahmundry: The in-charge Chief Commissioner of Land Acquisition and Principal Secretary of Revenue Department, JC Sharma, directed the Revenue officials to expedite land acquisition process for various projects in East and West Godavari districts. He reviewed the progress of land acquisition for various projects in both the districts at R&B guest house here on Thursday.

JC Sharma directed the officials to take measures for completing the projects within the stipulated time. With regard to pending court cases, he directed them to initiate immediate action for speedy disposal of cases. He also reviewed infrastructure facilities and employees position in the newly merged 7 mandals and asked them to fill the vacancies in these mandals immediately.

He noted that the State government was contemplating to constitute separate authority for these seven mandals. He also suggested them to follow the new rules that came into force for land acquisition and to concentrate on updating Revenue records in the coming three months.

District Collector Neethu Prasad said that special efforts have been made to fill the vacancies in the newly merged four mandals. Video conferencing facility would be provided to these mandals very soon. Land acquisition for the Polavaram project was in progress and the requirement of land for road widening of NH216 was also in progress, she added.


Neethu Prasad requested the CCLA to release funds for construction of MRO office in Rajahmundry, which was in dilapidated condition and to provide funds for land filling at Gollaprolu for construction of Tahsildar office for which funds were already released.

Sudarshan, Special Collector, Polavaram project said that out of 1,15,130 acres land was proposed to acquire for the Polavaram project, 76,468 acres was acquired so far and remaining land would be acquired soon.

In this meeting CCLA reviewed the progress of land acquisition of Polavaram project, second bridge works on Godavari, national highways extension, ONGC, GAIL and APIIC and other projects works.

Joint Collectors of East and West Godavari districts, Baburao Naidu, R Mutyala Raju, PO, ITDA, G Chandrudu, Rajahmundry Sub-Collector V Vijayarama Raju, RDOs and others attended.
