Vijayawada teen dies post 3 abortions, rapist held

The case attracted a lot of attention and passed shock waves in Andhra Pradesh. Police say they were examining the medical records to determine the cause of death. The teenager was admitted to hospital after she had her third abortion.

It turns out that the school headmaster had been sexually assaulting her for over two years. She lived with her parents but was attending special classes after school hours. Parents say they were under the impression that the headmaster would help her in funding her higher studies when he paid her school fees.

After the retirement of the headmaster, an English teacher from the same school started blackmailing the girl about her relationship and exploited her. The Headmaster later offered her admission in another institution. After BJP student union ABVP filed a case, police arrested both the principal and the English teacher on Saturday evening which came to light late.

Sudhakar, investigating officer said parents did not come forward as they were worried about future of their two younger daughters. The Headmaster even purchased half an acre land for the family to silence them. Police are inquiring whether other teachers were aware of the whole incident.
