Believed as handiwork of miscreants, who targeted banana plantations and set haystacks afire, went amuck trampling everything in their way. Power sprays and fertilisers stocks too were reduced to ashes in the attack. Six villages in Thulluru and Tadepalli mandals, which fall under the Capital Region Development Authority, bore the brunt of the arson attacks. Motor pumpsets, sheds and water pipelines too were destroyed. Penumaka and Undavalli villages under Tadepalli mandal, Mandadam, Venkatapalem, Lingayapalem, and Uddandarayunipalem villages of Thulluru mandal were the worst affected.
