Nellore: Municipal Minister P Narayana directed the educationl department to provide education in government schools on par with corporate schools. Along with town and rural MLAs, Anil Kumar Yadav and Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy respectively, he held a meeting with district higher educational officials at AC Subbareddy Government Medical College here on Monday.

Addressing the officials, the Minister said that AP would be transformed into a model State in the world within five years.


Stating that the State government was going to set up cluster schools to provide education equivalent to corporate, he said two schools that were near the district headquarters were under observation and cluster schools will be in their place after considering the total strength of students and teaching staff in those two schools. Students would get quality education through good teachers, right plan and same exam pattern, he added.

The Minister said that there were 1,550 schools within the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities in the State. The government is determined to provide quality education from the first class to tenth class and this workshop has been arranged to know the problems prevailing in the schools within the limits of municipalities. He directed the officials to give suggestions and advices before April 23, 2015 for providing education as per planning.

Speaking on the occasion, town MLA Anil Kumar Yadav said a GO should be issued for compelling the government employees and people’s representatives to admit their children in government schools. Informing the shortage of teachers and scarcity of facilities in the government schools, he requested the State government to take steps to solve these problems for providing quality education to students.

Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy requested the government to fill the vacant teacher posts in government schools or to appoint at least educational volunteers. He also suggested providing basic facilities in the schools.

Municipal Commissioner K V N Chakradhar Babu, Mayor Abdul Azeez, Chairpersons of Municipalities, Educational Officer Anjaneyulu, Head Masters of government schools and officials of various departments took part in the meeting.
