In-charge Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University- Kakinada (JNTU-K) Prof B Prabhakara Rao has said diversity brings people together and paves way for cross cultural practices.

Kakinada (East Godavari): In-charge Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University- Kakinada (JNTU-K) Prof B Prabhakara Rao has said diversity brings people together and paves way for cross cultural practices. He was the chief guest at JNTU-K sponsored ‘International Day Celebrations-2015’ event organised to promote the idea of ‘Together for Peace and Harmony’ on the university premises on Thursday. The V-C urged the students to work in team to grab the global opportunities. Through overseas exchange programmes, they could spread human values, ethics, culture, tradition, education universally.

Around 352 Foreign Students from countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Nigeria are pursuing Engineering course under the jurisdiction of JNTU-K. Prof GVR Prasada Raju, Registrar, Prof M Ramalinga Raju, Director, FUR, Prof K Padma Raju, Principal, UCE-K were the Guests of honour on the dais. The V-C distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions and certificates to the executive members of Foreign University Association.

JNTU-K team for sports meet
The JNTU-K Weightlifting & Powerlifting (Men) team will be participating in the All India Inter-University Weight Lifting & Power Lifting (Men) Tournament to be held from January 6 to 9th at Punjab Technical University, Punjab. The team members are V Raja Raghu Ram, Helapuri Institute of Technology & Science, Eluru, G Mahesh Babu, St Ann’s College of Engineering & Technology, Chirala, E S Mahesh Babu, Ramachandra College of Engineering, Eluru and P B V S Kishore, Chaitanya Institute of Science & Technology, Kakinada.

K Venkateswara Rao, Assistant Professor in Physical Education, Nimra Institute of Science & Technology, Jupudi is the team coach cum manager.
