Opening of JDY bank accounts completed in district, District Collector GSRKR Vijay Kumar said that the process of opening of bank accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana has been completed.
Ongole: District Collector GSRKR Vijay Kumar said that the process of opening of bank accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana has been completed.
Addressing the media at the conference hall of the Chief Planning Office here on Tuesday, he said that 6.63 lakh new accounts were opened in the banks. Every household in the district has on an average 3.46 bank accounts, he said.
The District Collector said that everybody in the district should make use of the accounts for obtaining subsidies.
He said that efforts would be taken to improve the functioning of the civil supplies department, which of late has lost track. The civil supplies department would be completely overhauled, he said. The District Collector warned that stringent action would be taken against those who encourage smuggling of rice. He said that special phone numbers would be allotted in the three divisions of the district to enable people to complain if they notice any irregularities.
District Collector GSRKR Vijay Kumar also addressed an at an awareness meeting for beneficiaries on bank loans at Ongole on Tuesday.
