Vizag Postal Staff get Hudhud Relief. Around 4,400 Postal employees and their families were badly affected in the Hud-Hud cyclone which hit Visakhapatnam area on 12.10.2014.
Around 4,400 Postal employees and their families were badly affected in the Hud-Hud cyclone which hit Visakhapatnam area on 12.10.2014. To provide immediate relief to the cyclone victims, the A.P. Postal Circle administration headed by Shri B.V. Sudhakar, Chief Postmaster General, A.P. Circle, Hyderabad has sanctioned Rs.1,72,90,000/- to the staff working in three districts i.e., Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam.
The sanctions were handed over to the staff representatives by Shri B.V. Sudhakar, Chief Postmaster General at a meeting held in the Conference Hall of Circle Office on 13.01.2015. On this occasion, The Directors of Postal Services from Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Kurnool and Hyderabad Regions and Circle Secretaries of Service Unions were also present.
The amount sanctioned was distributed as grant to the Departmental and GDS officials @ Rs.4,000/- per official and to the Casual Labourers @ Rs.3,000/-. The staff have expressed their happiness for the amount sanctioned. All the Postal staff working in Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle have come forward to contribute from their pay and allowances ranging from Rs.200/- to Rs.1,000/-. This is in partial modification of Press Release issued today forenoon.
