YS Jagan\'s Failure is Chandrababu\'s Gain. YSRC President YS Jaganmohan Reddy\'s two days deeksha at Tanuku in protest against farmers and SHG loan waiver by Chandrababu Naidu Government failed to match public expectations and had only attracted all out criticism from the TDP.
YSRC President YS Jaganmohan Reddy's two days deeksha at Tanuku in protest against farmers and SHG loan waiver by Chandrababu Naidu Government failed to match public expectations and had only attracted all out criticism from the TDP.
The publicity machinery of TDP (spokesman at NTR Trust Bhavan and Ministers in Secretariat) does not waste any opportunity to sling mud at Jagan and any of his attempts to come out on public domain. For the TDP, Jagan is not a president of a party with 67 MLAs and 8 MPs, but only an A-1 in Disproportionate Assets case hoisted on him by the CBI following a politically motivated petition by a disgruntled Congress man and also a TDP leader.
"Jagan is as respectable as Satyam's Ramalinga Raju, Coalgate, CWG and 2G scamsters and former ministers Krishna Yadav and Parthasarathy." says a YSRC spokesman contending that till he is convicted he is only an accused.
Since the elections, the YSRC has been at the receiving end with exodus of MPs, MLAs and MLCs to greener pastures to butter their bread both ways. But it is wrong to blame it only on YSRC members as we see both TDP and Congress legislators including central ministers queuing up to join BJP in the present scenario.
Jagan's deeksha failed to make any dent on either the public conscience or raise any political ruffles against the TDP in Andhra Pradesh not that it was ill conceived, but that it was wrongly timed and also it appeared like a toothless growl of the opposition party in the wake of TDP government's campaign that it had successfully completed the first phase of loan waiver (Debt redemption) program for Rs.5000 crore benefiting 23 lakh families of farmers .
There is sympathy and realization for the Chandrababu Government that he had done something and indirectly the farmers are likely to be major beneficiaries of the sops of land pooling for new capital in the CRDA. The high voltage publicity campaign about Naidu's Sankranti Kanukalu, land pooling, Visit to Davos, Investment proposals from global service and manufacturing sectors have all pygmied and shadowed Jagan's feat.
A weak and directionless opposition is equally dangerous in a democracy, as dangerous as the politically strong ruling benches. Chandrababu Naidu has been able to bull doze his way both in party and government due to weak opposition in both the fronts. But for the welfare sops, the AP government on the excuse of bifurcation blues has not made any strides in development activities.
It is time Jagan changed his strategy and campaign as so far he has not made any dent into the Chandrababu Naidu domain both in Assembly and also on the Government. While TDP spokespersons have termed it as a futile and desperate attempt, erstwhile poll allies of YSRC are watching the tirade silently as if Jagan had become an untouchable in the political theater of AP right now .
The net beneficiary is Chandrababu Naidu government which has been exploiting the fluid situation for perpetuating its own hegemony and also gearing for a massive dose of reforms, cost cuts and finally tightening the political vice grip through further emotional blackmailing people against Jagan and Telangana .
