Nellore: Reacting to the exit polls on the Delhi Assembly elections, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu observed here on Sunday that everyone should honour the people’s verdict.
He said the State governments have to work in coordination with the Centre for the country’s progress. He was speaking to the media after inaugurating a 100-bed hospital in Atmakur, its emergency wing and OP.
Naidu, along with State Ministers Kamineni Srinivas, Dr P Narayana and Siddha Raghava Rao, laid foundation for Rs.361 crore cement road work on the State highway 34.
He said that the Central Government sanctioned Rs 2177.17 Crore for the roads in the States and the development of the National High Ways.
He asked the people to recall who fought in Parliament for the needs of Andhra Pradesh. He expressed happiness that all of us had been under the leadership of a charismatic leader like Modi. He lambasted the Congress leaders for taking the country 50 years back. He bitterly criticised the Congress for dividing the state without prior plan and policies.
Venkaiah Naidu has participated in several programmes in his two-day visit to the district. Starting from Kavali he went to Nellore, Atamkur and finally concluded his trip at Udayagiri. During his visits, he laid foundation stones to several development works and inaugurated the completed work. He extended assurances to people on various schemes.
The people of Udayagiri extended a tumultuous welcome to the Union Minister. People in huge numbers thronged to see him as he came here after a long gap. The union minister turned nostalgic with memories of thirty years with the people of Udayagiri where he started his political career.
He laid foundation stone for the fifty-bed hospital at Udayagiri. State ministers Dr P Narayana, Siddha Raghava Rao, Kamineni Srinivas, MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and Collector Janaki accompanied him in the programme there.
Later, Venkaiah Naidu addressed a public meeting with MLA Bollineni Ramarao in the chair. He explained the political scenario during 1978 and 1983 years in the meeting. He promised the railway line from Nadikudi, an indoor stadium for its development and Udayagiri as tourist spot for its historical resources, culture and arts.
He also assured people of Udayagiri to provide Sagar water via Velugodu for drinking for agricultural needs. He informed that a project at a cost of Rs 600 crore was under the consideration of the Central Government. He appealed to State Minister Sidda Raghavarao to complete the construction of roads in Udayagiri, Nandavaram, Seetaramapuram and double lane for Kavali.
He informed that he would lay foundation stone for the huge drinking water project for Udayagiri in his next visit.
