Tirupati: The parents of a student resented the Education department for not including their daughter in the list of students selected for ‘Pratibha Puraskar’, which were presented by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Friday.

Sivasankar Reddy and Dharani of Tirupati, parents of Srija Reddy held a press conference here on Saturday. They said that their daughter scored 957 marks in CEC group, got third rank at state level (both in Telangana and AP) and second in the residuary State in CEC group and lamented she was denied the award. The girl got first rank in Chittoor district, they claimed.

They alleged that their daughter lost the rare opportunity of receiving the award from Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu due to the folly of the personnel involved in the preparation of the list of merit students based on their performance for the award. They sought the authorities to rectify the mistake.

The couple said that when they approached Intermediate Board RIO Sujana Mallika here expressed her inability as she was not the competent authority to include the girl’s name in the awardees list. They said they will take the issue to the notice of Chief Minister for getting justice to their daughter.
