YSRCP MLC Jupudi Prabhakar Rao described the process whose end result would be another City like Bangalore or Chennai or Hyderabad. For this he demanded the Central government to provide assistance towards generating a ‘level playing field’ for the AP. This would provide the government develop Industrial Hub in the State, he said. TDP MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao said the government had received maximum support from the farming community for the establishment of the new capital.

According to him, 95 percent of the farmers supported the government in land pooling and the process would provide the government with 80,000 acres of land this year. He challenged the Opposition YSRCP to come up with proofs, if the government was at fault. The Opposition was seeing things through a political prism, he said. While YSRCP MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy described the Governor’s speech as entirely untrue and away from ground realities. He challenged the government’s claim that it was extending the farmers market price, whose lands were seized for establishment of capital.

Mangalagiri MLA A Ramakrishna Reddy also challenged the government’s claim of land pooling as a smooth process. Pointing out that the deadline for land pooling was extended thrice, he questioned as to how this could be termed as a smooth process. He alleged that several farmers in his constituency were forced to give up their lands by TDP leaders. He also claimed 40 percent of the land was assigned land, which was being acquired for future capital. According to him, several farmers were threatened during the process, while the TDP leaders of the area were yet to offer their lands.
