Andhra Pradesh government seems to be not keen for immediate division of high court. Following a query by the Hyderabad High Court last week to make arrangements for a new high court the Andhra Pradesh government had filed its argument as an affidavit on Wednesday.

In its affidavit the AP state government has clarified that Center should fund for the state capital according to the reorganization act and so it cannot act immediately on the issue. Secondly, the President of India has to notify the new location of the AP high court.

Though the state is in favor of high court separation according to the bifurcation act, it wanted the division of the judicial infrastructure as per the Act, providing for the welfare of the staff and also the judicial officers community including the advocates, etc .

Given the conditions laid by AP, the high court division will take a very long time. On the other side, experts say that Telangana government wants the separation at any cost as they feel separate high courts for both the states will dilute the issues sprouting between both the states.
