On Monday, inaugurating the Spices Park in Guntur, the Union Minister announced that Vishakapatnam and Bhimavaram would be developed as international trade centers similar to Shanghai in China under the export excellence programme.
Sitaraman stated that foreigners have begun visiting India for spices as there was still a good market for Indian spices throughout the world. Also, stressing on research, she said that the Spices Board is conducting research only on 51 spices out of 109 spices.
