Though minister for municipal administration and vice-chairman of AP Land Pooling Committee P Narayana while announcing slapping of Land Acquisition Act for acquiring land, he did not mention any specific deadline. However, on Friday, minister for agriculture P Pulla Rao while speaking to reporters said that the farmers can still come opt for LPS if they do not want their lands to be acquired by the government under the LA Act.

“The government does not want any bad blood to be created between it and the farmers,” he said. Although the government is armed with the provisions of the Act, it does not want to create a feeling that the government snatched away their lands using force. Already, the government is on the safer side more than 80 per cent of farmers surrendered their lands under the LPS which meant that they had voluntarily parted with their lands.
