The proposal extends financial assistance along with empowering women politically and the initiative of setting up 36 ‘one-stop centres’ in States has taken up by the government for giving medical, legal aid, police protection and psychosocial counseling to female victims of violence.


Venkaiah Naidu, addressing women entrepreneurs at the international seminar on ‘Emerging Global Business Opportunities for Entrepreneurs’ that was organized by Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh (ALEAP) in Vijayawada said that the country’s development has been contributed with women playing a crucial role – leaders like Smriti Irani, Sushma Swaraj, Uma Bharati, Nirmala Sitaram and Harsimrat Kaur are the women who achieved wonders in the respective fields.


Adding further Mr Naidu said that to curb female infanticide, the Central government has given due importance which was witnessed with the drastic child sex ratio decrease and gender bias issue is also being tackled.
