In sharp criticism of the warring Chief Ministers of both the Telugu-speaking States N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrashekar Rao, matinee idol-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan on Saturday, in his tweet, advised both the leaders to follow in the footsteps of former South African President Nelson Mandela.

The actor, without mentioning the names of the two Chief Minsters, wrote on his twitter page. “If politics is all about settling scores, then I wonder if late Nelson Mandela would have had the same attitude like some of our leaders, then imagine what he could have done to the South African apartheid regime and the white people who tortured and humiliated him and the black people for decades.”

He further tweeted, “But as a leader, he has chosen a path of reconciliation to avoid a civil war and for the larger good of the people. That’s the greatness of his noble leadership and I hope our leaders walk on the path that he has shown.” “Still... if the leaders take it to that extent then the very people who put them in power will suffer. And one has to be aware of it,” he tweetted.

However, his fans and followers have taken this as an advice to the leaders who have been fighting against each other ever since the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh.
