AP Govt served notice over the Rajahmundry stampede

The High Court issued notices to Andhra Pradesh government over the recent stampede in Rajahmundry as Suo Motu case.

Questioning the AP government on the reasons that led to the mishap taking place and also the rescue measures taken, the Court directed the government to file its counter in a week.

The stampede at Godavari Pushkaralu in Rajhamundry on the first day of the Pushkaralu festival led to loss of 29 pilgrims lives and leaving 60 injured. Allegations arose that the government's negligence was the cause for the incident.
