Telugu Desam is the only party working for the welfare of SCs and STs, claimed the Minister for social welfare and empowerment Ravela Kishore Babu. He attended a public meeting organised for SC, STs in Ongole on Sunday evening as chief guest.

The Minister said, "The Telugu Desam founder NT Rama Rao introduced welfare hostels for SC, STs first time in the country. His idea of welfare was then copied by other States. Those hostels produced thousands of doctors, engineers and civil servants today.
Now, Chandrababu Naidu is working hard for the welfare of dalits and BCs. TDP is the only party that worked for and is working for the welfare of SCs and Sts. The congress and the YSRCP are treating SC, STs as vote bank”.
