Vijayawada: The State government is determined to conduct the foundation ceremony of ‘Amaravati-the people’s capital’ as a memorable event for Andhra hospitality to the guests who attend the programme.

In a review meeting here on Wednesday, Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, P Narayana and K Atchannaidu directed the authorities to monitor every aspect of the ceremony from inviting the guests to sending them off in a pleasant ambience.

They said the well-known Andhra hospitality should be talked about during and after the grand event. The officers should ensure that every moment of the foundation ceremony should be memorable as foreign dignitaries, including ministers of various countries,

ambassadors besides a good number of Union ministers, bureaucrats, eminent personalities from the judiciary, business tycoons and VVIPs from various other sectors would be attending the ceremony.

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu suggested that the officials make available local dishes and delicacies to the foreign delegates from Singapore, Belgium and Japan.

DGP J Ramudu told the meeting that the SPG (Special Protection Group) officials would soon be arriving to inspect the security arrangements of the Prime Minister.

The Ministers recommended that the committees on various units constituted with Ministers, advisors, MPs, MLAs and officials must meet regularly and review the arrangements thoroughly. The CM will have a formal meeting with all the committees on Friday.

According to the Ministers, it has been decided to arrange seats on the main dais of 12 feet height only for the PM, the CM and 15 more dignitaries.

Two more daises with 5-8 feet height, beside the main dais, will be arranged. Of them, one is for judges, diplomats and business tycoons and another is for Ministers, MPs and MLAs.

Central and State enclosures will also be arranged. The delegates coming with the families would be allowed through VIP gate and separate galleries would be earmarked for the seating of the members of VIP families.

A control room would be set up at airport for security purposes. According to the Ministers, nearly 10 foreign diplomats are expected to attend the ceremony.

Chief Justice of India, other Judges and Advocate Generals are likely to attend the event. Keeping in view the arrival of such important persons,

the Ministers decided to assign liaison officers to look after the hospitality for the guests. They will take care of hospitality matters, including their accommodation and travel.
