Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the political parties which are staging protests and burning the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not giving assurance on special status to State during Amaravati foundation ceremony have hidden agenda of political mileage.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Naidu said that the party leaders who adopted a non cooperative attitude and boycotted Amaravati foundation ceremony are trying to get political mileage by staging protests for special status.

CM made it clear that he addressed the meeting in a balanced manner during capital foundation and asked for helping hand from the Centre to develop Amaravati capital on par with neighbouring State capitals. He said that he asked for the implementation of all assurances of State bifurcation act along with special package and made it clear that there would be no question of compromise on the issue of special status.

He reminded that the Prime Minister also made it clear to implement the clauses in bifurcation act in letter and spirit. He said there would be no benefit with differing with the Centre or neighbouring States and development of the State is his first priority.
