Amaravati: Lok Satta Party founder Jayaprakash Narayan has sought the BJP-led NDA government to provide tax exemptions for 10 years to boost the industrial growth in the State.

Jayaprakash NarayanTalking to the media in Vijayawada on Sunday, he said that delay in according special category status was throwing back the State into the revenue deficit. Granting of tax exemptions would pave way for the industrialists to establish their units, which helps to generate employment up to some extent.

He said that Centre has also extended financial aid to West Bengal and Kerala from the funds of 14th Finance Commission. He flayed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his failure to get any declaration over special category status from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Amaravati capital foundation ceremony.

Instead, the Chief Minister has wasted the funds for holding the event on a grand scale ignoring the implementation of assured promises to the State by the Centre. Jayaprakash Narayan also appealed to the Centre to extend financial aid for the backward districts across the country for their development.

He made it clear that his party was not against the construction of capital Amaravati. He urged the Chief Minister to decentralise the administration for the development of the State.
