Five dead after a family of eight jump into dam

A family of eight members from Kristipadu village in Dornipadu mandal in Kurnool district jumped into Owk reservoir on Tuesday evening. The family who were running a grocery store at Koilkuntla bus stand but owing to financial issues, they took the extreme step of committing suicide and jumped into dam near Uppalapadu highway.
While three of the family members were rescued from the reservoir, the remaining five succumbed to death. Police arrived on the spot and fished out the bodies.
