Nellore: Congress leader and former minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy is likely to quit the party. In all probability, he may join the TDP.

Anam Ramanarayana Reddy late on Friday night said that the Congress party had failed to achieve its goals. During last 18 months it had taken up several protests but so far it had not been able to achieve its target. There was no point in taking up such agitations. It had not helped the people in anyway, he said.

“We have even gone to the extent of comparing ourselves with Mahatma Gandhi. I had always maintained that bifurcation would affect one generation and pleaded not to divide the state. But the party high command ignored our requests. Politically, we have been buried due to the party’s actions,” he said.

“I would take a decision about our future after discussing with my brother,” he said. Reddy said he had started his political career with TDP and would take a decision about his political future soon.
