The aspects of mathematics in everyday life were discussed at large in a one-day seminar held on ‘Advances in Mathematical Sciences’ at Kakaraparthi Bhavanarayana (KBN) College here on Saturday.
Vijayawada: The aspects of mathematics in everyday life were discussed at large in a one-day seminar held on ‘Advances in Mathematical Sciences’ at Kakaraparthi Bhavanarayana (KBN) College here on Saturday.
Mayor Koneru Sridhar inaugurated the seminar. He spoke about the availability of easy tips to ace the subject.
Giving away a keynote on the occasion, Prof T B K Iyengar from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal said that application of mathematics was vividly present in our daily lives. “We operate, work and conduct household duties with machines and electronics that are built using mathematical support. Further investigations and research on simplifying the usage of mathematics is under progress,” he said.
He further elaborated on how mathematics plays a role in subjects like commerce, economics and science. Advancements of algebra, number theory and other elements in software programming and code language were mentioned during his speech.
Prof G Chakradhar Rao from Andhra University spoke on research and development of the theories in mathematics.
Prof Surendranath Reddy from Maharashtra delivered his message on how mathematics plays a key role in statistics.
About 70 papers were presented at the seminar where 60 papers were published in two volumes. Research scholars, teachers, lecturers from States like Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana participated in the seminar.
KBN College vice-principal V Narayana Rao, programme convener K Naveen Kumar, head of the department M Venkateswara Rao, other faculty were present.
