Man knocked down by ambulance

A 32-year-old person was crushed to death by a speeding 108 ambulance at Uppuluru village in Kankipadu mandal. Gunti Sivashekar (32) was going towards Kankipadu in the early hours of Friday when he was met with an accident. According to the Kankipadu police, Sivashankar was riding a motorcycle when a speeding 108 ambulance hit him and as a result he died on the spot.

Gunti Sivashekar (32) was going towards Kankipadu in the early hours of Friday when he was met with an accident. According to the Kankipadu police, Sivashankar was riding a motorcycle when a speeding 108 ambulance hit him and as a result he died on the spot.
The ambulance was heading towards Gannavaram hospital from Gudivada when the accident took place. The driver of the ambulance Ede Srinivasa Rao was taken into custody. It is learnt that the driver has been working for the 108 emergency services for the past eight years. A case under section 304A has been registered against driver Srinivas Rao and investigation is on.
