DCCB to lend more to weavers’ societies

Kurnool: The District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) has decided to lend money liberally to Handloom Weavers Cooperative Societies to enable them to achieve growth.

Speaking at a meeting of presidents of weavers societies here on Saturday, DCCB Chairman M Mallikarjuna Reddy said the bank got Rs 20 crore under the Integrated Cooperative Development Project (ICDP). It was decided to utilise a major portion of the allocation for the development of handloom sector.

Loans would be provided to the weavers societies from the ICDP funds if they came up with development plans, he said. Bank Chief Executive Officer P Ramanjaneyulu, director Murali Babu and others attended the meeting.
