Speaking on the occasion, Pulla Rao said that martial arts help youngsters not only stay healthy but also become brave and sports and games provide the all-important relaxation to the students and also transforms their personality. It is a good sign that more students are showing keen interest in pursuing martial arts and the State government will always be in the forefront to render a helping hand,” he assured. Over 300 students took part and demonstrated their skills in karate. Krishna District ZP Chairperson Gadde Anuradha, Telangana Sports Karate-do Association president D Mahesh Kumar Goud, South Asian Karate Federation president R Tyagarajan and several karate masters took part in the inaugural function of the tournament. Later, the Minister along with other dignitaries distributed medals to the winners of the championship.
