Eluru: District Collector K Bhaskar would undertake “Project Baata” on December 31 to inspect the progress of construction of various irrigation projects in the district.

The Collector conducted a meeting with officials and contract agencies at the Collectorate here on Saturday. He asked the ILFS, progressive Construction and other agency representatives about the status of various construction activities.

He pulled up contract agencies for allegedly showing negligence in carrying out the works and warned them of terminating their contracts lest they expedite the works. Venting his ire at ILFS Company, he said the company would be blacklisted if they failed to speed up works by Monday.

He pointed out that the Tadipudi Lift Irrigation Project was supposed to be completed seven years back, but even today, the project is far from becoming operational.

The Collector would visit Tadipudi, Chintalapudi and Polavaram project sites as part of the Project Baata.
