Arya Vysyas deserve their due share in politics: Sidda

Visakhapatnam: Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao has said that Arya Vysyas are still to prosper in active politics and assured of his cooperation in according due importance to Vysya candidates in the ensuing Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation elections and also in the nominated posts.

The Minister attended the Arya Vysya Atmeeya Sammelan organised by the Arya Vysya Yuvajana Sangham at Birla Junction here on Sunday. Thousands of Vysya families from all 72 municipal wards attended.

Stating that the population of Arya Vysyas was seven per cent in the State, the Minister said that they were role models for all sections of people with choultrys and homes for aged donated by them liberally. He asked them to go ahead with the inspiration of ‘Amarajeevi’ Potti Sreeramulu and assured that he would help in extending government welfare schemes to the BPL families of Vysyas.

Earlier, various cultural events and the Maha Rudrabhishekam were organised to enthrall the participants.

Welcoming the guests, Sangham president K M V S T Ramakrishna and secretary N Bangaru Chetty appealed to all political parties to accord due importance to Arya Vysyas in the GVMC elections.
