The CPM District Committee on Wednesday alleged that the Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, had violated the assurances mentioned in the GO No 100 with regard to the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme (PLIS) resulting in acute water scarcity to Godavari delta.

Bhimavaram: The CPM District Committee on Wednesday alleged that the Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, had violated the assurances mentioned in the GO No 100 with regard to the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme (PLIS) resulting in acute water scarcity to Godavari delta. The party district secretary, B Balaram, addressing a press conference here, said the Chief Minister had cheated the West Godavari people in the name PLIS. He alleged that crores of rupees corruption was involved with PLIS.
He pointed out that the Chief Minister had assured when he laid foundation stone that after the Godavari river water level exceeded 14 meters, then only water will be lifted from PLIS.
However, the officials had lifted the water to Polavaram right Main Canal (PRMC) when level was below 14 metres.
