Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation here on Saturday appealed to the State government to shift the proposed food park from Thotapalli village of Agiripalli mandal to a better location.

Speaking to media persons, the chamber president-elect Muthavarapu Murali Krishna and executive director P Bhaskara Rao said that the Thotapalli site is a hilly area and it would require huge investment and time to level the ground.
They suggested that the government may shift the food park from Thotapalli to Veerapanenigudem or Mallavalli areas, where the government land is available and investors might get attracted to the site. Murali Krishna said that the investors are waiting for the government to begin the process of launching the food park.
The government had announced the food processing policy in July 2015 and guidelines in November 2015. However, due to unsuitable site, the investors are not coming forward, he said and expressed fear that they might move to other locations.
