Two boys mowed down by jeep

Two boys were knocked down by a speeding jeep at Bathalur village in the mandal on Sunday while they were going on a bicycle. Enraged by the ghastly mishap, locals caught hold of the jeep driver and thrashed him.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and took the jeep driver into their custody. The bodies of the two boys whose identity is yet to be established, were shifted to the Nandyal government hospital for post-mortem. A case was registered.
