Guntur: Easing traffic congestion, curbing illegal activities, white collar crimes and economic offences would be top priority in the new year, said Superintendent of Police S Tripathi. Once the administration is shifted to the capital region, it would be a challenge to police to maintain law and order, he opined.

The Superintendent of Police during interaction with the media here on Tuesday, stated that smartness has something to do with the change in the attitude of people and not merely one's physical outlook. He said that every profession has some core values and tenets to which one has to be loyal to. One has to follow the voice of the conscience to deliver the best to the society.

On complaints and grievances from the public, Tripathi said that mostly family issues from women are coming to the fore. The family issues pertain to men's extra-marital relations and disturbances in the families thereby.

Tripathi invited feedback and suggestions on effective policing in view of the challenges that may pose with the changing of demography of the capital region. He said that he believed that a well informed media on the problems of the general public and tips concerning anti-social elements could supplement government efforts to address core issues of people as well as crime, law and order.
