Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu appealed to builders to give priority for quality and adopt modern technology to win the confidence of people in housing infrastructure development in Amaravati capital region. He said the builders have to play a key role in infrastructure development in the capital region.

After inaugurating the CREDAI property show here on Friday, the Chief Minister said world-class capital Amaravati would be developed and the real estate sector would emerge as priority sector in the capital region. He advised the builders not to focus only on earning profits, but also to adopt modern technology in infrastructure development. He said single-window clearance system was introduced to encourage setting up of more industrial units in the State, besides simplification and rationalisation of all regulatory mechanisms.

The Chief Minister said that it was proposed to develop two mega cities, four townships and 13 smart cities in the State. He said that Vijayawada city would be developed as canal city, Visakhapatnam as beach resort city and Tirupati as city of lakes. He said Rajamahendravaram, Machilipatnam and Nandyal would be developed as smart cities. Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Collector Babu A, CREDAI State president A Siva Reddy, joint secretary R V Swamy, Vijayawada division president Ch Sudhakar and others were present.
