Hyderabad: Justice P Naveen Rao of the High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday granted relief to another batch of Vaidya Mitras working with NTR Vaidya Seva Trust directing the AP government to continue them in service and also not to take any coercive steps against them until further orders.

The judge was dealing with petitions filed by about 490 field staff, questioning the action of the Andhra Pradesh government in implementing an order that resulted in many Vaidya Mitras losing their jobs.

The Vaidya Mitras from Kadapa, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Nellore, Guntur and Kadapa districts moved the court stating that the decision of the government to make recruitments by prescribing fresh qualifications, resulted in terminating their services and the government had already identified more than 1,000 staff for the same.

The judge directed the authorities not to interfere in their working till further orders and adjourned the matter to February 8.
