Minor girl raped in Palasa
A six-year-old girl was raped in Pentipadra area, outskirts of Palasa Municipality on Thursday. According to Palasa circle inspector Y.Ramakrishna, the accused is identified as Sondupalli Dharma Rao of Metturu village in V.Kotturu mandal.

In noon, during lunch hour, the accused came to local government school and lured the girl by promising to offer her some eatables. He took her away to a secluded place nearby, and raped her.
After noticing that the girl had been absent for classes after lunch hour, the headmaster informed the same to local police and her parents. Meanwhile, locals spotted girl crying in cashew orchard.
They also caught the accused and roughed him up before handing him over to police. Based on the complaint of girl’s parents, police registered case under the POCSO Amendment Act, 2013.
