Collect power bill arrears from unofficial residents of govt quarters

Collector Ch Vijaymohan directs DWMA SE to collect power charges from those residing in 5,000 houses and 2,500 government quarters, after providing the department connections

​Kurnool: District Collector Ch Vijaymohan on Saturday directed the DWMA and Irrigation officials to secure power connections in the name of the respective departments for the benefit of those staying unofficially in government quarters at Sunnipenta.

Addressing the ROFR District-level Committee and reviewing the water and power supply facilities in Sunnipenta, he instructed DWMA SE to collect power charges from those residing in 5,000 houses and 2,500 government quarters, after providing the department
connections.

The Collector said in the case of those staying in 2,500 private residences, time should be given until February 28 for payment of power bills and later, the supply should be disconnected. He wanted the officials to extend the same facilities with regard to water supply, laying of pipelines and installation of motors in Sunnipenta for the benefit of 25,000 residents, as given in nagara panchayats with over 25,000 population.

Vijaymohan asked the RWS officials to immediately complete two pending water supply schemes in Sunnipenta and to submit proposals to provide power connections to them.

He said the GO according gram panchayat (GP) status to Sunnipenta was ready, while seeking proposals for creating GP. This status would pave the way for solving the issue of streetlights and others.

Vijaymohan accorded permission for allotting 18.46 acres of forest land in Sivapuram to six beneficiaries. When the issue of land for burial grounds at Indeswaram, Kottala Cheruvu and Nagachoti areas was brought to his notice, he accorded permission for Kottala Cheruvu.
