The AgriGold Farm Estates India Private Limited Chairman Avva Venkata Ramarao, Managing Director Avva Venkata Seshu Narayana Rao  were sent to 14 days judicial custody by West Godavari district In-charge Principal Sessions Judge A Hariharanatha Sharma on Friday morning. Both the accused were arrested by CID team at Hyderabad on Thursday. 

Eluru: The AgriGold Farm Estates India Private Limited Chairman Avva Venkata Ramarao, Managing Director Avva Venkata Seshu Narayana Rao were sent to 14 days judicial custody by West Godavari district In-charge Principal Sessions Judge A Hariharanatha Sharma on Friday morning. Both the accused were arrested by CID team at Hyderabad on Thursday.

As the first case against the accused was registered in West Godavari district, the CID team brought them here on Friday. The two accused were brought to Eluru by CID team headed by DSP Vasamsetty Rajgopal under tight security ring.

When the CID officials produced both the accused before Judge Hariharanatha Sarma at his bungalow, he ordered judicial remand to the accused. Later, the CID officials took the accused to Government headquarters hospital for medical checkup and medical officers declared them medically fit, despite both accused claiming various health problems.

Meanwhile, the victims and agents reached the hospital and tried to attack the accused, however, police foiled their plans and dispersed the agitating victims from the scene, after a scuffle and shifted them to district jail.Actually, a total of Rs 200 crore was collected from West Godavari district, according to the agitating agents and victims.

Like all other depositors, grandmother of Ghantasala Venkatesu of Pedapadu deposited Rs 22,000 in AgriGold. She did not get her amount even after specified date from the company.
