​Tirupati: Centre will introduce a bill in the ensuing Parliament session for approval of providing a uniform minimum wages to 40 crore employees engaged in the country, said Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya. Speaking to media, after inspecting the Rs 110 crore regional ESI hospital which is coming up here, on Saturday, the Union Minister said the bill proposed to hike and ensure uniform minimum wage to all the unorganised sector employees for their welfare.

"If necessary, the government will bring an ordinance to implement a national level uniform minimum wage and welfare measures for the unorganised sector employees" he averred. This apart, the Centre is also keen on evolving a plan for the benefit of the unorganised sector employees including hiking the salary limit from the present Rs 15,000 monthly to Rs 25,000 for availing ESI benefit to cover more number of employees, super specialty facilities in ESI hospital, introducing smart card etc.

He was all praise for Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and said that he is doing his best to get more funds under various Central schemes for the development of the State. On its part, the Centre is also keen on helping Andhra Pradesh to get more funds, on priority basis for its progress, he added.

Dattatreya said that a new 6-bed ESI hospital will be come up in Tirumala with the cooperation of TTD for the benefit 7,500 TTD contract employees on hills and added that the construction of new building for Tirupati ESI hospital will be ready by December this year and more facilities will be added to it for extending its services to Rayalaseema districts.

The Minister claimed that the performance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, in the 18 months is much better than the performance of the ten-year rule of UPA. ”Modi government has succeed in ensuring a good transparent governance, free of corruption’’ he said adding that it also proved its mettle in efficiently handing many natural calamities in various States during its rule.

''Our government is moving with determination to achieve zero per cent poverty’’ he further said. BJP leaders including Bhanuprakash Reddy, Jalli Madhusudhan, Gali Pushpalatha and others were present.
