Hyderabad: A panel constituted by Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao on the suspension of YSRCP Nagari MLA R K Roja is likely to submit its report to the Speaker on February 19. According to sources, the panel headed by Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad met at the State Assembly premises here on Monday to discuss the complaint lodged by TDP MLA Anita against Nagari MLA Roja.

In her complaint, Anita had alleged that Roja had violated the dignity and decorum of being a member of the House and resorted to levelling personal allegations against her, using abusive language. She further alleged that the language used by Nagari MLA amounts to “defamatory and slanderous” and demanded action against Roja. During Monday’s meeting the members reportedly took into consideration the proposal put forward by the TDP MLA that she is ready to withdraw her complaint against the Nagari MLA, provided, if she tenders an apology.

However, the YSRCP sources have reportedly expressed their disappointment calling the panel biased and the Nagari MLA is reportedly not willing to tender an apology. Following this stalemate, the panel has learnt to have decided to meet on February 19 to make a final report of its recommendations on action to be taken against Roja and submit its report to the Speaker.

As there was sign of response from the YSRCP side, the panel has little in its hand to bring the warring YSRCP and TDP to agree for a truce. So, the committee has nothing left in its hands other than to follow the due process to recommend action against Roja, the sources said.
