Improve infra in SC, ST colonies
Minister for social welfare Ravela Kishore Babu today instructed the officials to utilize funds allotted for under the SC,ST Sub-plans to improve infrastructure in SC, ST Colonies. He reviewed steps taken by the municipal engineers in 13- districts to spend funds allotted under the SC, ST Sub-plans over video conference from Guntur city.
Amaravati: Minister for social welfare Ravela Kishore Babu today instructed the officials to utilize funds allotted for under the SC,ST Sub-plans to improve infrastructure in SC, ST Colonies. He reviewed steps taken by the municipal engineers in 13- districts to spend funds allotted under the SC, ST Sub-plans over video conference from Guntur city.
Speaking on this occasion, he reminded that the government has allotted Rs.1200 crore for the development of internal roads in SC colonies and Rs.200 crore for S.T.Colonies in the state.
Similarly, the government allotted Rs.600 crore for the development of internal roads in the SC Colonies and ST Colonies in the municipalities and municipal corporations.
He instructed the officials first identify the works to be taken up for the development of roads immediately. He directed the officials to provide necessary infrastructure in SC,ST Colonies and construct hospitals, schools and community halls.
The minister further instructed to provide electricity and drinking water immediately. He directed the officials to identify colonies where SC,STs population is more to improve infrastructure before March 30 to take up development works.
He instructed the municipal officials to identify the slums where SC,ST population is more to develop infra with the SC,ST Sub-plan funds and added that the government will take steps quality control checks with the third party to check the quality of the works.
