AP Chief Minister and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu chose to be vague on the issue of admitting YSR Congress MLAs into his party, however, he added that there was a need for a political merger in the state. Addressing a press conference in Vijayawada on Saturday, Chandrababu said like-minded people could join hands with TDP as they want to strengthen the party up to the village level for which the leaders are working actively on.

When quizzed on YSRC MLAs, Bhuma Nagi Reddy and his daughter Akhila Priya joining TDP, the Chief Minister merely said that while the media speculates, they act. Chandrababu refused to comment on YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's claim of him being able to bring the TDP government down with the support of 21 ruling party legislators.
