Chittoor: BJP district president Chandra Reddy gave a call to party cadres to make success of public meeting to be addressed by BJP national president Amit Shah at Rajahmundry on March 6, 2016. He said party can prove its strength by making success of public meeting. He addressed the BJP leaders and workers at district general body meeting organised at a private hotel here on Tuesday. Several national and state-level took part in the meeting.

The BJP leader stressed on the need for strengthening the BJP in the State even though it has alliance with the ruling TDP. He asked party leaders to mobile large number of people from the district for the public meeting as Amit Shah will be addressing it for the first time in Andhra Pradesh. “Our goal is to strengthen the BJP in the State so that it can come to power,” he stated.

Reddy exuded confidence of BJP emerging as strong to such an extent where it can decide the future of the ruling TDP also. He admitted that several BJP functionaries in the district are very much frustrated with the indifferent attitude of the ruling TDP. He opined that success of public meeting will decide whether the BJP has to continue its alliance with the TDP or not. He gave a call to party workers to create awareness among people about centrally-sponsored schemes which are being implemented by the BJP-led NDA government.

BJP district in-charge Anjaneya Reddy alleged that certain anti-national elements were forcibly hatching a conspiracy to destabilise the country by joining hands with terrorists. He said that they are trying to tarnish the reputation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated that University of Hyderabad research scholar Rohith Vemula, who had committed suicide, was not a Dalit.

“Opposition parties made it a big issue by attributing Dalit tag to Rohith,” he added. Reddy also condemned series of incidents that took place at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). He said arrest of JNU Students’ Union president Kanhaiya Kumar arrest on the charges of making anti-national remarks has brought bad reputation to the JNU.

State BJP BC Cell president J Madhusudhan, party’s national committee member Santha Reddy, State executive members Krishnam Naidu, Pushpalatha, former Minister Dr P Subbaiah, former BJP city president Haribabu and others spoke.
