Chittoor: The BJP district leader and former Health Minister Dr P Subbaiah criticised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for failing to convince Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to allocate more projects and funds to the newly formed Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget.

He slammed the TDP government for creating false impression intentionally among people that Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) belong to them. Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, the BJP leader stated that the Modi government had introduced several welfare schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DUGJY), Prime Minister Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and Digital India.

He alleged that implementation of the CSS is going at snail’s pace due to lack of commitment from the TDP government. The BJP leader ridiculed the TDP government for printing photo of Chandrababu Naidu on the schemes sponsored by Centre and ignoring photo of Modi. Subbaiah pointed out that the TDP leaders are not willing to acknowledge the NDA government’s support to the State.

The former Minister alleged that the TDP district leaders are maintaining distance from the BJP leaders. Subbaiah stated that he will bring to the notice of party national president Amit Shah, who would be visiting Rajahmundry on March 6 to address a public meeting, as to how the TDP leaders were neglecting the BJP leaders in the district. He opined that alliance with TDP is of no use for the BJP in the context of strain relations.

The BJP leader exuded confidence that the TDP would respect the alliance as it would be mutual beneficial to both parties. He admitted that the TDP support needed for the BJP-led NDA government at Centre. He expressed anguish that no TDP leader took initiative to invite BJP leaders for participating in developmental works in the native district of the Chief Minister.
