Narsapur: MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu has said that River Godavari dried up which was never seen in three decades. However, he said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken steps to supply irrigation water to the crops in East and West Godavari districts.

He visited Lingaboina Cherla village in Narsapur rural mandal on Wednesday. He entered into the paddy field of Kunapareddy Narayana Rao and took part in farm activity.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Chief Minister had directed officials to supply water to farmers from Sileru and Odisha to save the crops. On this orders, the officials brought the water and implementing the rotation system to supply water. He said the officials and water users associations (WUA) had succeeded in supplying water to each acre up to tail-end lands.

AMC chairman Rayudu Sriramulu, Water Users Association president Katakamsetty Peddiraju and others participated in the programme.
