Employees of 13 districts stage dharna at Lenin Centre
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Government Contract and Outsourcing employees Federation (APSGC & OEF) took out a huge rally and staged a dharna near Lenin Centre here on Thursday demanding immediate hike the salaries of contract and outsourcing employees as per the recommendations of tenth pay revision commission. Contract and outsourcing employees and workers from all 13 districts participated in the rally that was carried out from railway station to Lenin Centre.
The APSGC & OEF State president A V Nageswara Rao, general secretary B Ravichandra, organizing secretary M Balakasi and other leaders, who spoke on the occasion, demanded that the State government should sanction 180 days maternity leave to the contract and outsourcing women employees.
“Government should distribute health cards, bus passes and announce DA on par with the regular employees,” they added. MLCs M V S Sarma, V Balasubramanyam, M Geyanand, Y Srinivasulu Reddy, former MLC M Lakshmana Rao, APNGOs Krishna district secretary M Iqbal and other leaders expressed solidarity to the contract and outsourcing employees.
“Even though the contract and outsourcing employees are also doing work on par with the regular employees, the government is paying very less salary, it is high time they regularised the services of contract and out sourced employees,” they added.
