Heavy rush of devotees was witnessed at Shiva temples in Mahanandi, Srisailam, Draksharamam, Srikalahasti, Bhimavaram, Vemulavada, Palakollu, Amaravati, Samalkot and Kaleshwar.
The devotees are observing fasts on the eve of Maha Shivaratri and performed 'Abhishekam' to Shivalingas - special ritual bath on Lord Shiva’s idols with milk and honey as part of their prayers.
