Attempt to kidnap girl student foiled
A girl, identified later as Sudharani, made an attempt to kidnap an VIII class girl student of Chaitanya Techno School, Yamini Kanakadurga, on Friday, from the school in Betapudi village in Repalle constituency. The incident took place when the student was in her classroom.

The girl went to the school and asked for Kanaka Durga. When the girl came out, Sudharani attempted to drag her to a nearby waiting car. However, the girl student raised an alarm alerting the teachers and others. Sudharani tried to flee the spot but was prevented by the passersby.
Repalle CI Mallikarjuna Rao said a case has been registered. The kidnapper tried to escape when the girl raised alarm, he said. Passersby caught and handed over Sudharani to the police, he added. Sudha Rani, a beautician in Ongole, is claimed to have stated that Ongole SI Jaganmohan Rao had sent her to bring along Kanaka Durga. He belongs to the same village.
Kanaka Durga said a similar attempt was made in the past and a case was also registered. The CI said that a case was registered and investigation is on.
