Hyderabad: The no-confidence motion moved by the YSRCP in the Assembly on Monday ran into trouble as the Leader of the Opposition who was not a signatory to the motion wanted to initiate the debate. Taking strong objection to it, the Legislative Affairs Minister Y Ramakrishnudu said that as per rules only the member who moves the motion seeking the permission of the House to admit can only initiate the debate.

He said a person whose name is not in the list of signatories cannot initiate the motion. Relenting after initial protest, Jagan asked the Deputy Floor leader Jyothula Nehru to let him speak one line that he initiated the debate and said his leader would delve in detail over the reasons for moving the no-confidence against the government.

Ramakrishnudu further added that even at this stage, Jagan could not speak since as per rules after initiating the debate by the opposition; two members from the ruling party should get the opportunity. At this stage, the Speaker allowed two TDP members to speak over the motion.

Later Jagan, given a chance by the Speaker, started off with allegations against the Chief Minister and blamed him of involving in the murder of Vangaveeti Ranga. This sparked off strong protests from the ruling bench. Taken aback by the reaction, Jagan quickly switched over and spoke for about three hours.
